In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule, Administrative and Management Positions, Transportation Specialist Series 2101
General experience is described as: 3 years of progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least GS-4, that demonstrates the ability to: Analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; Plan and organize work; and Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of general experience at the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include: Comprehensive knowledge of a wide range of vehicle ground transportation concepts, policies, principles, and methodology to identify, analyze, and resolve vehicle operations issues and problems. Knowledge of organizational missions, objectives, and procedures prominent in the DoD Transportation System and vehicle operations functions. Broad knowledge of federal agencies practices and commercial procedures to manage efficient and effective vehicle operations functions. Follow on salary increases based on contribution MAY be earned within the full salary of the NH-02 pay band."

- Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Ground Transportation Element within the Logistics Readiness Squadron, ensuring customer support complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
- Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Responsible for controlling/dispatching assigned vehicles and operators, motivation of workers, organizing and making individual work assignments.
- Represents the Ground Transportation Element with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
- Plans and directs the operations of the installation's ground transportation services. Maintains vehicle dispatch logs, records, and reports.
