Duties
Help
  • Reviews Electronic Warfare (EW) systems to integrate them with Joint Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms and to identify materiel requirements that ensure they meet user operational needs.
  • Develops and trains Electronic Warfare (EW) tactics, techniques, and procedures for Special Operations Forces (SOF) EW specialists to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Leads EW research and development efforts across the Interagency and briefs senior Intelligence Community personnel to inform and align the command's EW initiatives.
  • Advises and assists in developing EW training requirements and curricula to ensure system operators are properly prepared for mission execution.
  • Participates in the command's EW Integrated Product Team to identify and prioritize development requirements, ensuring they account for emerging and future communications technologies.
  • Coordinates intelligence community efforts to ensure collection management, analysis, and production effectively support operational planning.
  • Prepares and revises materiel requirements documents, program management materials, test plans, and training plans to support the development and fielding of chartered systems.
  • Oversees contractor personnel and project execution by assigning tasks, providing policy and technical guidance, evaluating performance, and ensuring all deliverables meet requirements to sustain mission readiness.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment urinalysis screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 30% of the time.
  • In the event of severe weather conditions or others such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disasters, the incumbent may be required to report to work or remain at work to support the mission operation.
  • May be subject to short notice recall. Must reside within a 50-mile radius of duty location.
  • In conformance with AR 600-500. Standard of Conduct for DA personnel, Paragraphs 3-1 and 3-2A, must file a Statement of Employment and Financial Interest.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1.) Developing or providing complex electronic warfare systems to integrate with joint intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance platforms in order to ensure they meet user defined operational needs; AND 2.) Leading or participating in electronic warfare integrated product teams to collaborate with subject matter experts in identifying requirements and prioritizing capability development: AND 3.) Serving as a subject matter expert on electronic warfare doctrine, policies, concepts, tactics, techniques, and procedures to support the development and application of effective operational practices. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
