The Jr. Security Administrative Specialistwill provide administrative and security management assistance to the AFRL SSO division.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage security programs to protect classified information and facilities
- Open and close SCIFs when required
- Maintain and manage Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security protocols
- Support the Special Security Officer (SSO) or Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) in daily operations
- Conduct investigations into security violations and prepare incident reports
- Process and maintain personnel security clearances and visit authorizations
- Coordinate SCI indoctrinations and debriefings
- Provide training on security protocols, OPSEC, and physical security measures
- Prepare and process visit certifications and manage access to secure facilities
- Collaborate with Information Systems Security Officers (ISSOs) to ensure classified systems meet DoD cybersecurity standards.
- Assist with security briefings, testing, and demonstrations.
- Ensure compliance with DoDM 5105.21 SCI Administrative Security Manual.
- Serve as an alternate Top Secret Control Officer.
- Assist site security manager or base SSO in the areas of information, industrial operations (OPSEC), personnel and physical security programs as outlined in the DoD, AF, internal operating instructions and other applicable collateral and SCI guidance.

- Assist with developing facility security status reports
- Support Integrated Product Teams with security management, Information Protection, Anti-Terrorism/Fore Protection by analyzing problems, defining alternative solutions, providing recommendations, writing reports, and accomplishing specifically assigned work as defined in individual TOs or programs.
- Assist in maintaining secure facilities and respond appropriately to alarms of the Government facilities IAW Air Force requirements and AFRL operating instructions.
- Receive and secure classified information and conduct independent security studies and analyses as required.
- Assist the Chief of Security to ensure security program requirements are integrated into all program areas as required by Department of Defense (DOD), United States Air Force (USAF), and Major Command policies.
- Provide support as a technical security advisor to internal and external entities on matters affecting overall protection architecture.
- Provide security oversight and management activities for all aspects of information, personnel, industrial, physical, and operations security.
- Travel may be required
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum four (4) years' security experience in a DoD or intelligence environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience with derivative classification, PII marking, and OPSEC
- Knowledge of Physical Security, Personnel Security, and Information Security
- Possess communication and interpersonal skills to engage with internal teams and government representatives
- Ability to identify vulnerabilities and implement risk mitigation strategies
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure, classified environments
- Knowledge and skill in managing and/or facilitating several complex, difficult, and time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
- Ability to travel if needed
