Description

The Application Engineer - Level II provides knowledge in design, architecture, development, testing and administration. May monitor existing systems for structural integrity and oversee the development and installation of new hardware and software. Will install and configure operating systems, other software and routinely test installed software for error detection and other issues. This position provides technical direction to IT support staff. The Application Engineer - Level II designs and implements security systems and redundant backups to maintain data safety. The Application Engineer - Level II writes custom scripts to reduce the need for human intervention and create automated solutions for the enterprise. This position establishes multi-platform versions of the software package, and write tests for existing and created code to ensure compatibility and stability.

Designs, develops, and implements business applications using current technologies and architect solutions in SharePoint Portal Server (SPS) and Windows SharePoint Service (WSS). Must have expert level knowledge in the administration, configuration and customization of SPS and be able to architect and develop technical solutions from business requirements, as well as be able to take current business rules and provide improvements. Will be required to present and defend technical solutions and designs to clients. Will develop design documents (i.e., technical specification documents, functional requirement documents, and object modules, system test plans).

Requirements

  • IA Technical/Management Designation: IAT II (required) and Computing Environment (CE) if privileged access is required for lab, test or production environments.
  • Commercial (Baseline) Certificates: IAT II: Commercial Certificates for DoD 8570.01-M certificate requirement, CE: Professional level certificate for supported technology as approved by the COR.
  • Experience in this Discipline: Four (4) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency.
  • Position designated Non-Critical Sensitive (Tier 3). Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain Tier 3 national security eligibility (Secret-level investigation)
  • Education: Bachelors Degree and/or Equivalency
