As a Senior Data Analyst with MTSI, you will play a critical role in supporting AFWERX-the center of innovation for the Air Force-by leading advanced data analysis, database management, and reporting efforts that drive strategic decision-making. You will design and maintain complex data systems, oversee statutory reporting, and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure data integrity and compliance across Air Force and Space Force SBIR/STTR programs.

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $130,000/year to $150,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract rates, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. As a Senior Data Analyst with MTSI, you will play a critical role in supporting AFWERX-the center of innovation for the Air Force-by leading advanced data analysis, database management, and reporting efforts that drive strategic decision-making. You will design and maintain complex data systems, oversee statutory reporting, and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure data integrity and compliance across Air Force and Space Force SBIR/STTR programs.
Responsibilities:
Your essential job functions will include, but may not be limited to:
- Lead the design, creation, and administration of enterprise-level databases for AF and SF SBIR/STTR data, linking contract awards to proposals for comprehensive program analysis.
- Manage data integration and uploads to platforms such as Google Cloud, MS Teams, and the Defense SBIR/STTR Innovation Portal (DSIP).
- Develop and execute complex queries using multiple data sources (CRIS, DSIP metadata, EDA, SAM.GOV, VISSION-X) to ensure accurate and complete datasets.
- Oversee Phase III data collection and statutory reporting, including quarterly and annual submissions to the Department of War.
- Collaborate with the DOW Data Team to reconcile data discrepancies, improve reporting processes, and ensure compliance with federal requirements.
- Participate in data governance and collaboration initiatives, including conference calls and working groups to enhance data quality and reporting standards.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on data analysis to inform program development, resource allocation, and policy decisions.
Qualifications Required:
- 10+ years of experience in data analysis, database management, or related analytical roles with a Master's degree; OR 18+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree.
- Demonstrated expertise in database design, administration, and data integration across multiple platforms.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to senior leadership.
Highly Desirable Skills:
- Advanced experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Google Cloud) and collaborative environments (MS Teams).
- Strong understanding of SBIR/STTR programs, federal reporting requirements, and defense acquisition processes.
- Ability to lead process improvement initiatives and mentor junior team members.
