Job Summary:
The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect the organization’s IT infrastructure, networks, and data. This role includes assessing vulnerabilities, responding to security incidents, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in cybersecurity, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work cross-functionally to strengthen the organization’s security posture.
Key responsibilities include planning, developing, and implementing advanced security solutions to defend against hacking, malware, ransomware, insider threats, and other cybercrimes. The engineer oversees network monitoring, identifies potential security issues, and anticipates breaches. Additionally, the role executes the installation and maintenance of security programs, plans, and software, including firewalls and data encryption systems.

Key Responsibilities:
Security Architecture & Implementation:
- Design, implement, and manage security solutions to protect networks, systems, and data.
- Develop and maintain secure system architectures and security controls.
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
Threat Monitoring & Incident Response:
- Monitor security events and respond to threats using SIEM tools.
- Investigate and remediate security incidents, vulnerabilities, and breaches.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Compliance & Policy Management:
- Ensure adherence to cybersecurity policies, frameworks, and industry regulations.
- Assist with audits and security assessments to maintain compliance.
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including policies and procedures.
Security Awareness & Best Practices:
- Provide security training and awareness programs for employees.
- Stay up to date on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends.
- Recommend security enhancements to improve organizational resilience.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, computer science, information technology or related field, or combination of experience and education.
- Experience:
- Journeyman: Bachelors + 3-10 Years
- Senior: Bachelors + ≥10 Years
- Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Clearance, TS/SCI eligibility
- Required Skills:
- Experience with security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
- Hands-on experience in penetration testing, vulnerability management, and security incident response.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001), and best practices.
- Proficiency in security tools, firewalls, and network security protocols.
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Preferred Skills:
- Industry certifications (CISSP, CEH, CISM, Security+).
- Experience with DevSecOps and secure coding practices.
- Knowledge of zero-trust architecture and identity and access management (IAM).
