Job Description

TIAG is now hiring a Senior Electronic Security System (ESS) Engineer to support our Electronic Security Systems (ESS) team. The Senior System Engineer will serve as a specialist on regulatory standards from the associated DoD Component and local host nation to apply and comply towards the ESS designs for our customers.

This position is based out of our Mount Pleasant, SC office with the ability to work a hybrid schedule and may require travel up to 10% of the time. An active Secret Clearance will be required to perform this work, so US Citizenship is a requirement.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Serve as a Senior Electronic Security System (ESS) Engineer .
  • Review security designs and provide directions/guidance that meets the Government's requirements and regulatory compliance.
  • Meet with ESS vendors to perform market research, explore new solutions, develop technical solutions, perform analysis, and develop list of materials.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders of project/program to analyze the requirements and engineer the access control solution.
  • Systems Engineering to include requirements gathering and analysis, scope definition, cost estimate development, design development, implementation delivery, SOVT.
  • Technical engineering to develop solutions, Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), ESS strategies and master planning.
  • Administrating cloud systems through patches, permissions and service deployments -Monitoring and analyzing network performance to match on-demand requests.
  • Defining and implementing policies for cloud-based systems
  • Establishing connections to and from various cloud network types and managing firewalls.
  • Support end-user training and documentation development
  • Collaborate with government engineering and cyber teams to align networking infrastructure requirements to enable the ESS communications in campus/base.
  • Assures quality of task products, services, and deliverables, including participating in reviews, audits, and site visits.
  • May represent NIWC Atlantic to engage with stakeholders and serves as a liaison with clients to coordinate activities, negotiate tasks, and solve problems.
  • Assist with the development of the integrated master schedule which will identify all projects, priorities and resources.
  • Mentor technical teams; fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  • As a supervisor of more junior team members, may prepare and deliver annual performance reviews and assessments with project delivery teams.
  • Support new business proposals with writing assignments, diagrams, technical approach and past performance specifications.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or Engineering, 5-10 years of systems engineering experience, and deep expertise in infrastructure, scripting (Python, PowerShell), and cloud technologies (AWS/Azure).
  • Demonstrate leadership, advanced troubleshooting, and strategic planning skills to design, secure, and maintain complex, high-pressure IT systems.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, networking protocols (TCP/IP), database management (SQL), and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Cloud & Infrastructure: Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and infrastructure as code tools, alongside knowledge of hardware, storage, and server monitoring.
  • In depth cybersecurity experience including servers, software, networking, operating systems, and STIG implementations.
  • Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), or CISSP.
