Our client we are supporting is a family of companies are comprised of multiple SBA Certified Native American Tribal 8(a) and multi-certified organizations focused on delivering Information Technology, Management Consulting, and General Construction solutions to the Federal Government along with the Commercial Sector. They are actively seeking an seeking Cybersecurity Engineer/ Engineer Info Assurance 3 based in Orlando, FL or O’Fallon, IL at Scott AFB. This is a full-time onsite opportunity. This position requires an active Secret Clearance.

Compensation: $88 – 125K per year.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a great team supporting developing software for emerging capabilities for the Mobility Air Force Distributed Mission Operations program. The capability to train the Aerial Refueling Mission is important for the success of the program, and will require innovative analytical and integration test tools. The main responsibilities of the role include:
• Serve as Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for MAF DMO networks
• Support all phases of RMF, including:
o Risk management strategy and policies.
o Awareness and training.
o Security control implementation and validation.
o Assessments, continuous monitoring, authorization, and remediation
• Ensure MAF DMO IT assets are evaluated for cybersecurity risk and that residual risks are documented and mitigated in accordance with DoDI 8510.01 and the RMF security package.
• Author and update cybersecurity documentation (e.g., SSPs, ISAs, POA&Ms, program policies).
• Perform security configuration and STIG validation for operating systems and network devices.
• Conduct and review ACAS/Nessus vulnerability scans, analyze results, and coordinate patching.
• Audit hardware/software against approved baselines to ensure compliance
• Monitor and review audit logs in tools such as Splunk for suspicious or unauthorized activity.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure all systems remain in compliance with current accreditation.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree + 5 years relevant experience, OR Master’s degree + 3 years relevant experience, OR PhD or JD in related field (no experience required), OR High school diploma/equivalent + 9 years relevant experience.
• Certification: DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security, GSEC) .
• Broad knowledge of network accreditation, Platform IT (PIT) determinations, and Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation.
• U.S. citizenship and a current or active DoD Secret clearance (must be maintained throughout employment).
Preferred Qualifications::
• Hands on experience with: Nessus/ACAS, Splunk, OpenRMF Professional, EvaluateSTIG, STIG Viewer, RHEL/Linux, Ansible.
• Familiarity with eMASS for RMF package management.
• Experience performing STIG compliance for both Windows and Linux environments.
• Knowledge of DoDI 8500.01, NIST 800 53 security controls, and vulnerability management best practices.
• Previous Air Force or DoD cybersecurity experience, particularly in distributed mission operations or simulator environments.
• Relevant security certifications beyond IAT Level II, such as CISSP, CASP+, or CEH.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to perform standard office duties (computer work, meetings, documentation) for extended periods.
• Willingness and fitness to travel as required for program needs.
• Capability to work on site in technical environments, including simulator facilities.
• May involve light physical activity such as standing, walking, bending, or accessing equipment for troubleshooting purposes.
