Inserso is seeking a matter expert (SME) in low voltage structured cabling infrastructure supporting Information & Communications Technology (ICT) systems in diverse and complex government facilities. This position will provide design and consulting services on multiple projects at various lifecycle stages, pre-design through completion. Candidates must possess a working knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practices applicable to Division 27 Communications design, installation, project management, and construction administration (CA) services.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project goals and develop cabling requirements charter.
Lead design activities on assigned projects to produce basis of design narratives, pathways, floor plans indicating outlet locations and configurations, enlarged closet drawings, rack elevations, backbone cabling, power requirements, and rough order of magnitude (ROM) estimates.
Familiarity with cabling technologies to include inside plant (ISP)/outside plant (OSP), CAT 3/CAT 5e/CAT 6/CAT 6a shielded and unshielded twisted pair (STP/UTP), RG6/RG11 coax, and single mode/multimode fiber optics.
Respond to correspondence in a timely manner and actively participate in meetings to present information to technical and non-technical audiences, resolve conflicts, respond to requests for information (RFI), and coordinate requirements/schedules.
Perform technical compliance review of Architectural and contractor bid documents/deliverables to ensure approved requirements are integrated and followed.
Maintain a milestone report with real-time progress updates.
Follow government cabling standards and operating procedures.
Promote continuous improvement by performing ongoing analysis of project performance and lessons learned to improve documentation, processes, and customer service delivery.
Required Skills/Experience:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and pass the DHS Employment Eligibility Verification process.
Building Industry Consultant Service International (BICSI), Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification.
8 years of IT-related support experience.
3 years of relevant project management, design and installation experience including DHS or other similar federal agencies.
Experience with Information & Communications Technology (ICT) systems.
Proficient in the use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Visio.
Attention to detail, ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
ITIL certified.
Building Industry Consultant Service International (BICSI), Registered Telecommunications Project Manager (RTPM).
Project Management Institute (PMI), Project Management Professional (PMP).
Physical and/or Mental Qualifications:
Effectively communicate with customers, stakeholders, and technical specialists.
