Mechanical Solutions Engineer Senior Overview The company, a defense contractor, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years of experience in Digital Engineering/MBSE and 5 years of mechanical design/analysis experience. The candidate will have over mechanical design, thermal and static analysis, material selection, environmental ruggedization, and payload/platform system safety & integration experience, to work on a program at Point Mugu, CA. Salary The typical annual salary range for this position is $120,000.00 USD to $170,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range. Responsibilities Demonstratable experience in MBSE/Digital Engineering capabilities Create mechanical designs and CAD models for payloads and assemblies Perform thermal and structural FEA analysis Select materials and design for environmental ruggedization Support payload integration on platforms including mounts and harness routing Produce manufacturing documentation with GD&T and tolerances Support vibration, thermal, and environmental testing Qualifications 10 years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer 5 years of mechanical design/analysis experience Proficient in CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo Experience with FEA tools such as ANSYS, COMSOL Experience with thermal analysis and environmental qualification Strong knowledge of materials, GD&T, and manufacturing processes Desired Experience Reverse-engineering exposure and solutioning Line Replacement Unit, Assembly, and system level Test System Safety Engineering Participant in a system level engineering effort; System Engineering resource Requirements definition EDUCATION Degree: BS in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred) or a relevant technical discipline CLEARANCE - SECRET Condition of Employment: Applicant must be able to be found eligible and sustain an active DoD SECRET Clearance.
