Northrop Grumman is in need of a Casual On-Call Consulting Engineer to work at its Elkton, Maryland location.
Provide subject matter expert consultation on a wide variety of solid propulsion technical challenges. Responsibilities will be open-ended and managed on a case-by-case basis and may include: membership on failure review boards, serve as a non-advocate reviewer for milestone reviews, provide targeted training on advanced SRM topics, provide mentoring/guidance to senior SRM engineering staff, and similar activities.
Basic Qualifications:
Primary Level Salary Range: $1.00 - $2.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Bachelors or higher degree in STEM.
- 16 or more years of overall relevant engineering experience within the solid rocket motor propulsion industry
- Subject matter expert-level knowledge on a variety of solid rocket motor topics
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present to internal and external customers and management
- Basic technical software proficiency including Microsoft Office productivity software
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite
