Piper Companies is seeking a SETA (Scientific, Engineering, and Technical Assistance) GMP Manufacturing Specialist to work remotely in support of a cutting-edge health innovation agency. The SETA Specialist will partner closely with Program Managers and multidisciplinary teams to drive the development, execution, and evaluation of high-impact R&D programs in areas including DNA, RNA, and viral-vector therapeutics.

Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Specialist
- Support and advise the Program Manager in the development, planning, and execution of new and existing technical R&D programs
- Conduct research and review scientific, industrial, and technical literature related to biopharmaceutical product development and advanced manufacturing (DNA, RNA, viral vectors)
- Synthesize findings clearly for diverse audiences; compare and contrast technical approaches and emerging innovations
- Prepare briefings and presentations for team-level and executive-level stakeholders, translating complex data for technical and non-technical audiences
- Apply strong critical-thinking skills to review scientific data and assess technical claims
- Conduct programmatic administrative tasks such as collecting, sorting, analyzing, and preparing internal reports in health-related domains
- Support occasional domestic travel (~10-20%) to fully assist the Program Manager and program activities
Qualifications of the Manufacturing Specialist
- PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related life sciences discipline or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of industry experience in biopharmaceutical or biomanufacturing settings
- Hands-on proficiency in cell and molecular biology techniques
- Experience with QC analytical techniques and assay development for cell and gene therapies
- Strong ability to integrate, process, analyze, and synthesize scientific and technical data
Compensation for the Manufacturing Specialist
- $65/hr and up on contract; conversion salary $120k+
