The salary range for this role is $45,000 - $55,000. This range is a good-faith estimate that reflects various experience levels. - Identify potential suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors through market research, supplier databases, and networking.
- Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate terms and conditions, and establish contractual agreements that meet the organization's needs and requirements.
- Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and vendors, address issues or concerns, and ensure adherence to contract terms and service level agreements.
- Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Review purchase requisitions, assess specifications, and determine appropriate procurement methods (e.g., competitive bidding, request for proposal - RFP, request for quotation - RFQ).
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, such as department heads and budget managers, to clarify requirements, obtain approvals, and prioritize procurement requests.
- Analyze pricing proposals, quotations, and bids to determine cost-effectiveness and value for money.
- Conduct cost comparisons, supplier evaluations, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses to support procurement decisions and budget planning.
- Track procurement expenditures, monitor budget allocations, identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors, fostering collaboration, communication, and mutual trust.
- Address supplier performance issues, resolve disputes, and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure service delivery and quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with suppliers to explore opportunities for supplier diversity, sustainability, and social responsibility initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including ethical standards, legal obligations, and industry standards.
- Conduct risk assessments of suppliers and vendors, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize procurement-related risks.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting procurement practices and incorporate changes into procurement processes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate procurement processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce cycle times.
- Leverage procurement tools and technologies, such as e-procurement systems, contract management software, and supplier portals, to improve process visibility and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, IT departments, and vendors to implement procurement systems and software solutions.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and processes, including strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- High School Diploma
Desired Skills
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, procurement, STEM discipline, or a related field.
- Additional certifications (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management - CPSM, Certified Purchasing Manager - CPM).
- Experience preferably in a corporate or government setting
- Familiarity with procurement regulations, compliance requirements, and ethical standards (e.g., FAR, DFARS, ISO 9001) is a plus.
