Join Peraton in advancing the safety, efficiency, and modernization of the National Airspace System(NAS) through the FAA's Business, National Airspace, and Technical Computing Services (BNATCS)contract. The ideal candidate will support technical design, conduct design reviews, and ensure application requirements and standards are met. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions that drive mission success and operational excellence. Whether you're supporting safety validation efforts or leading teams on major FAA programs, your work will directly impact the millions of passengers and aviation professionals who rely on safe, efficient airspace operations every day.

Work Location:
  • This position is full-time on site in Egg Harbor Township, NJ
In this position, you will:
  • Support technical design and architecture for complex software systems.
  • Conduct design and code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, requirements, and performance standards.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable, and secure software solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with technical customers, project managers, QA engineers, and other developers to ensure alignment on deliverables.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using modern programming languages and frameworks.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize performance, improve user experience, and reduce technical debt.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers, fostering a culture of excellence and learning.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to bring innovative ideas to the team.
  • Leadership and oversight capabilities requiring delegation and cooperation.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of software development experience or Masters degree and 6 years experience or Associate's degree and 10 years experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 12 years experience.
  • Proven experience in software development including front-end Angular web development and iddle-tier Java Spring Boot API development.
  • Experience with Spring Boot framework, including RESTful APIs, controllers, services, and repositories.
  • Experience with Angular, including components, services, pipes, and routing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to FAA programs or NAS systems.
  • Experience with FAA systems, federal modernization efforts, or mission-critical environments.
  • Knowledge of TypeScript and its benefits for large-scale applications.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+) for front-end development.
  • Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mocha, and Jasmine.
  • Ability to work in an Agile environment and participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Familiarity with containerization using Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Experience in the development and execution of development test procedures, system test performance and stability test procedures, and regression/user acceptance test procedures.
  • Experience in the development of automated tests using Selenium and/or Playwright.
  • Experience in scripting test tools and test simulators.
  • Experience in the use of test simulators such as the Simulation Driver and Radar Recorder (SDRR).

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
