About The Role
Peraton is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to join a high-performing Cyber Intelligence team in Laurel, MD. In this role, you will provide cloud software research, development, and engineering services supporting complex operational environments. You'll work within an Agile Scrum framework to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-based solutions across the full software lifecycle.
This is a hands-on engineering role supporting real-world mission systems - from development and integration through sustainment and optimization.

Target Salary Range: $176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

What You'll Do
- Provide cloud software research, development, and engineering support
- Perform requirements analysis and translate mission needs into technical solutions
- Design, develop, install, integrate, test, validate, and sustain cloud-based applications
- Diagnose and resolve software issues across development and production environments
- Support full lifecycle software engineering in an Agile/Scrum environment using JIRA
- Develop and implement unit tests, test plans, and test scripts
- Integrate software components within AWS and Linux-based environments
- Enhance and optimize cloud architectures for performance and scalability
- Support ongoing maintenance and mission sustainment activities
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
- Eight years of experience developing software with high level languages such as Java, C, C++.
- Five years of experience developing software for UNIX/Linux (Redhat versions 3-5) operating systems.
- Three years of experience in software integration and software testing, to include developing and implementing test plans and test scripts.
- A bachelors degree in a technical field is required (NOTE: We can accept 4 additional years of experience in lieu of the degree)
- A Masters degree in a technical field would qualify for two years of experience.
- One of the following Cloud Certifications are required: AWS Certified Developer - Associate, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD).
- Possession of a certification is required and will be verified as part of the interview or offer process.
