Mechanical Assembly Technician

Kennedy Space Center, FL

$26.43-$37.01/Hour

Responsibilities:
  • Assemble precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Install and assemble pumps, valves, fittings, tubing, and hydraulic systems
  • Perform tube routing, tube bending, ducting installation, and fitting installation
  • Execute structural assembly and match drilling on aluminum, titanium, and composite materials
  • Measure and verify tolerances, clearances, and torque specifications using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
  • Work from engineering drawings, work instructions, and aerospace requirements to complete complex assemblies


Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of related mechanical or structural assembly experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Experience with mechanical tube installation, structural drilling, and aerospace assembly
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly documentation
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting a NASA program
  • Experience in a clean room manufacturing environment
    Manufacturing experience supporting human spaceflight, spaceflight, or aircraft hardware programs
    Experience with tube routing, ducting installation, valves, and fittings
    Experience with match drilling and structural assembly of aluminum, titanium, and composite materials
