Tyto Athene is seeking a forward-thinking and self-motivated Technical Writer/Business Analyst to support one of our federal customers in Washington, DC. This position serves in a dual-capacity role, providing direct support to Agency Branch Chief and Senior Technical Writer while also performing business analysis functions related to IT systems, change management, and enterprise operations. This role requires the ability to translate technical information into clear documentation while coordinating across stakeholders, tracking system changes, and ensuring operational alignment.
The selected candidate will serve as a key coordination point across meetings, documentation, change requests (CRs), reporting, and system tracking activities. The role supports information systems security infrastructure, change management processes, and operational governance activities.

The selected candidate will serve as a key coordination point across meetings, documentation, change requests (CRs), reporting, and system tracking activities. The role supports information systems security infrastructure, change management processes, and operational governance activities.
Responsibilities:
Technical Writing (50%)
- Support development, maintenance, and updating of technical documentation, including: system documentation, meeting minutes and governance artifacts, back-brief documents (Word and PDF formats), standard operating procedures (SOPs) and templates and reporting formats
- Prepare and maintain weekly meeting documentation packages, including: reviewing and updating meeting notes, cross-referencing notes against system records (e.g., Remedy) and updating PowerPoint briefings for multiple governance meetings.
- Draft and distribute finalized meeting notes and briefing materials to stakeholders.
- Update documentation templates per client requests and implement process improvements.
- Maintain version control and documentation integrity across multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Serve as backup to the Senior Technical Writer and Branch Chief for documentation and meeting facilitation.
- Identify documentation gaps and recommend process improvements.
Business Analysis & Operational Support (50%)
- Develop, support, and maintain the organization's information systems security infrastructure, including: requirements gathering, documentation, implementation support, testing coordination, operational tracking.
- Review and cross-reference Change Requests (CRs) in Remedy against meeting minutes and governance documentation.
- Create and maintain Excel trackers containing CR data and operational metrics.
- Transfer relevant data from tracking spreadsheets into executive-level PowerPoint briefings.
- Monitor CR updates weekly and document changes across governance meetings.
- Follow up with stakeholders regarding CR status, action items, and required updates.
- Review and maintain task trackers to ensure alignment with deadlines and priorities.
- Facilitate meetings when required and capture detailed action-oriented notes.
- Prepare weekly back-brief documentation for leadership.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including board-level representatives, on initiatives such as enterprise tools (e.g., Splunk) and organizational improvements.
- Attend and support recurring governance meetings (e.g., DSAW and related boards).
- Support ad hoc requests, training sessions, and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Technical Communications, Public Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a Technical Writer, Business Analyst, or hybrid role on cybersecurity projects.
- Experience supporting federal government IT environments.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite, data tracking and reporting, and meeting facilitation and note-taking
- Experience working with ticketing/change management systems (e.g., Remedy, or similar).
- Ability to translate technical information into executive-level briefing materials.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Experience supporting governance boards or IT review boards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Clearance:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or higher clearance (as required).
Location:
- This a hybrid role with the expectation to be on-site in Washington, DC as needed
