Description
We're seeking a Senior Product Manager Technical - External Services (PMT-ES III) to own the AWS Wickr product roadmap, customer feedback cycle, and drive the next evolution of secure collaboration for security-conscious customers. You'll define product strategy, prioritize features, and translate complex compliance requirements into product capabilities that delight customers while meeting stringent certifications. This role requires deep customer engagement with enterprises and organizations operating under strict security mandates, working hand-in-hand with engineering and field organizations to deliver solutions at scale.
AWS Wickr is an end-to-end encrypted collaboration platform trusted by organizations with the most stringent security requirements. With 256-bit encryption, US and Global security level certifications such as FedRAMP, and deployment options spanning cloud-native to tactical environments, Wickr protects critical communications for customers that cannot compromise on security. We deliver secure messaging, voice and video calling, file sharing, and screen sharing-all protected by encryption where only intended recipients hold the decryption keys. If you love building user-facing security products that protect some of the world's most critical missions, this is the role for you.
This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.
Key job responsibilities
- Define and execute product strategy and roadmap for AWS Wickr, working backwards from customer needs in the public sector and intelligence community
- Drive feature prioritization and launch planning for secure messaging, voice/video, file sharing, and collaboration capabilities
- Own P&L reporting and business metrics, tracking adoption, usage, and revenue growth
- Partner with engineering teams to define technical requirements and specifications for new features
- Engage directly with government customers, intelligence agencies, and regulated industry customers to understand mission requirements and security needs
- Collaborate with compliance and security teams to ensure Wickr meets FedRAMP, DoD IL5/IL6, and other certification requirements
- Work with AWS service teams to integrate Wickr with broader AWS ecosystem (GovCloud, Secret Region, etc.)
- Support the go-to-market strategy and work with field teams to drive customer adoption
- Analyze competitive landscape and market trends in secure communications
- Create product narratives, PRFAQs, and business cases for new initiatives
- Represent Wickr in customer briefings, conferences, and industry events
A day in the life
As the Senior PMT for AWS Wickr, you will own the complete product lifecycle-from customer research and requirements definition through roadmap prioritization, feature delivery, adoption metrics, and supporting the Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy. You'll drive technical discussions about encryption protocols, identity federation, compliance controls, and deployment architectures while maintaining relentless focus on simplifying the customer experience without compromising security. The successful candidate must have exceptional problem-solving skills, strong technical judgment, and demonstrated experience influencing both technical and non-technical stakeholders in security-conscious environments.
A strong technical background is required to produce concrete specifications and work closely with engineering to drive implementation. In this role, you will be at the forefront of secure communications technologies with interactions across cryptography, identity management, compliance frameworks, and AWS infrastructure services. You must be creative and forward-leaning in developing solutions that balance security, usability, and mission effectiveness.
