Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Project Manager/Principal Project Manager.This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the SDS Engineering Homeroom. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You'll Get To Do:

The selected candidate will support an experienced and diverse functional team which is responsible for defining processes and procedures, standing up and maintaining tools, and staffing our engineering workforce. As this work spans across a diverse set of stakeholders, this leader will be expected to collaborate effectively and partner across organizations -- Human Resources, Communications, Site Operations, and Program Leadership - to ensure day-to-day functions of the organization execute. The successful candidate will join the SDS Division Engineering Homeroom supporting day-to-day operations as well as special projects. This role requires a proactive individual willing to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. A good team focus and willingness to multi-task is important in this role.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Coordinates with the Division Homeroom, for identifying needs and coordination on task closure (Agile).
  • Acts with a sense of urgency and accountability; takes ownership of tasks and strategic direction.
  • Builds relationships, effectively listens, communicates to influence, and ensures accountability across a network of stakeholders.
  • Navigates ambiguity and develops a systemic approach and strategy to address and solve problems.
  • Develop and maintain a Master Schedule, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Prepares charts, briefings and metrics as needed to provide the team with visualization material necessary to understand the health of the organization and status of tasking.
  • Updates project database information with multiple input sources.
  • Coordinates SharePoint changes with admins and developer to maintain communications to homeroom.
  • Provide regular status reporting and maintain accurate schedule data for stakeholders.
  • Design and maintain MS Teams and Confluence spaces for project documentation and knowledge bases.
  • Leads planning of all-hands, summits, and other events to strengthen workforce development.


This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Project Manager: Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience; 0 years with Masters; or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of a bachelors degree.
  • Principal Project Manager: Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience; 3 years with Masters; or 1 year with a PhD; or an additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of a bachelors degree.
  • 1+ years of experience leading a project and/or driving performance against cost/schedule.
  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Previous experience with project management or operations on a diverse team.
  • Proven ability to help solve problems or conflicts within teams.
  • Ability to improve processes and drive cadence of the team's execution.
  • Detailed and team oriented with demonstrated organization skills.
  • Experience in Jira, Confluence, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in managing documents, collaborative workspaces, and web portals using SharePoint and Microsoft Teams for version control, access permissions, and seamless team file sharing.
  • Experience in project managing (both strategic and logistics) large events across multiple stakeholders.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).




Primary Level Salary Range: $65,500.00 - $98,300.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $122,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
