Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) sector is seeking a Division Operations Director 1 located in Alice Springs, Australia . This position is responsible for the day-to-day 24/7 operations of the NG team at a site located in Alice Springs, Australia.
As the Director, you will be leading a team to consistently exceed expectations, ensuring performance management tasks prioritized, and effective teams are in place. You will work closely with other international and US locations in execution of the various operations, maintenance and installation activities. You will be the primary interface to the local customer, both US Government and Australian counterparts representing the program as well as the company. This position reports to the Program Manager.
As the functional Director of a team of uniquely skilled engineers in a semi-remote site you will be expected to provide career development and coaching, performance feedback and management. You will need to have a good working knowledge of NG policies, ensure process discipline and work closely with HRBP (Human Resources Business Partner) on functional tasks as well as promote the highest standards of conduct. You will be expected to actively recruit and maintain staffing levels working closely with other site leaders and the Program Manager.
Overseas Operations Manager Skills Required
This role requires a minimum two (2) year commitment (four (4) year preferred) and the ability to successfully pass a physical and psychological exam.
A comprehensive overseas compensation package is offered with this position including relocation assistance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $203,900.00 - $305,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Experience in strategic decision making and service delivery to meet ambitious targets.
- Experience in leading, managing and building a highly technical team in a dynamic work environment.
- Background of space-based systems and familiarity with US Government customers
- Strong and effective communication skills of all types given time zone challenges
- Ability to develop relationships and operate in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment and dispersed global program.
- Clear decision-making skills with ability to work independent of other immediate support given the isolation due to site location.
- Proven experience in leading process improvement initiatives and implementing change.
- Ability to work non-standard schedules (i.e., flexibility driven by coordination globally)
- Flexibility to travel as needed.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM and 10+ years of related professional/military experience to include a background in project/program management within the defense/aerospace industry,
- Prior experience leading multi-functional teams
- Experience in preparing proposals and ECP
- Experience with Basic Programmatic skills in risk management and financial acumen
- Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year
- Travel approximately 25% of the time.
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance and/or SCI access with the ability to obtain a positively adjudicated counterintelligence (CI) polygraph examination prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SCI Access with a counterintelligence (CI) polygraph examination adjudicated positively within the last three years.
- Previous experience working on location and/or in the field to support the Department of Defense and/or the Intelligence Community
- Ability/Previous experience in effectively communicating and presenting to directors, VP and other technical managers and customers.
- Familiarity or background with Space Sector organizations, processes and leaders
- Customer experience or familiarity with Customer acquisitions, organizations, budget processes, investment strategies.
