THE WORK
This position is part of the LM Product Quality Team, within the LM Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) Quality Assurance organization. The selected candidate will serve as the Quality Engineering Associate Manager for Product Quality Engineering (PQE) for the Owego site. The Quality Engineering Associate Manager will be responsible for day-to-day leadership of Quality Assurance team members comprised of Quality Engineers and Quality Engineering Aides. Must have knowledge of equipment, assembly components and processes supporting printed circuit board fabrication as well as an understanding of machining and manufacturing. Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place. When required, devises, and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
As the Product Quality Engineering Associate Manager, you will be supporting the build of all products within Mission Integrated Command and Control (MIC2) and Sensors, Effectors, Mission Systems (SEMS) market segments. As the Associate Mgr., you will lead PQEs and other support team members. You will have responsibilities including Owego Site DCMA interface and issues resolution including Corrective Actions and Escapes as well as other quality related issues. As PQE Associate Mgr., supporting Product Quality Engineering Activities Include:
• PQE support to PWB, MTA and ABU Manufacturing Operations areas at the Owego site.
• Provide Input as required to assist in planning, scheduling, coordinating, and reporting results of first article inspections.
• Provide technical assistance to PQEs related to manufacturing operations, product compliance, and practices related to quality oversight in the manufacture and assembly of CCAs, PWBs and inspection of machined parts. Includes support to PQEs performing Engineering drawing reviews and supporting the Engineering Release process.
• Perform periodic reviews of Quality Command Media for mission applicability and support updates as required
• Perform surveillance audits as necessary
• Communicate and coordinate with all cross-functional organizations within RMS and the Owego site supporting business operations
• Assist with identification, development, and coordination of corrective and preventive actions, as well as monitoring performance metrics to ensure implementation of effective corrective measures.
• Responsible for coaching / mentoring other LM PQEs or other quality support personnel as necessary at the Owego or applicable RMS facility
• Supports Operating Excellence Program for the APS market segment
• Support PQEs in the proposal, MRB and Auditing processes as necessary
• Support 1LMX initiatives within the Quality Assurance Organization as required
In addition to the Product Quality Engineering activities, Provide technical assistance in the development of procedures, processes for product acceptance and inspection requirements as necessary. Provide support to product recall / escape investigations. Support QA and Operations Leadership at the Owego site and provide support to RMS Executive Leadership as required.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in STEM or related discipline required
• 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Prior experience in Quality Assurance roles
• Experience with leading with Root Cause and Corrective Actions
• Demonstrated capability to lead multifunctional teams to complete complex projects
• Ability to read GD&T and understand engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills

• AS9100 experience

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
