Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Project Engineering Intern for the Summer of 2026. In this role, you will:
- Support small to moderate efforts to support testing and adoption of transformational systems and technology in secure environments, such as:
- Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality
- Digital Twin and AI/ML Capabilities
- Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Modernization
- Generative Design and Additive Manufacturing
- Model Based Enterprise with systems, physical world, and simulation models
- Modernized Classified Infrastructure and capabilities
Basic Qualifications:
• Candidates are working towards a bachelor's or master's degree in a STEM related field
• Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently
• Proficient in MS office tools including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Must be a US Citizen
Desired Skills:
• Familiarity of the functionality and objectives of MBE, MBSE, Digital Engineering
• Desire to learn Fundamentals of Agile Project Management (Scrum Master, Product Owner/Product Manager, etc.)
Experience with JIRA and Confluence is a plus
• Desire to learn proper requirements definition (i.e., Concept of Operations (CONOPs), requirements document, interface requirement drawings/documents, etc.
• Experience with creating and giving presentations using NS PowerPoint
• Desire for implementing new digital engineering processes and/or capabilities
• Desire to gain familiarity or experience with Digital twin capabilities
• Desire to gain familiarity or experience with deployment of new applications
• Desire to gain familiarity or experience with ROI and/or cost avoidance estimation, Risk and Opportunity evaluation and weighting
• Desire to gain experience with leveraging AI capabilities
• Performed work as a "change agent" able to facilitate both technical and cultural adoption of new processes, tools, and approaches
• Experience with outreach, networking with disparate stakeholders, and team-oriented efforts
• Positive demeanor, accountable and responsible and able to work in a team-focused, dynamic environment

These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
