Adv Systems Administration Specialist

Manassas, VA

Pay Estimated: $52.07-$57.07/Hour

Active Secret Clearance Required to Start

Responsibilities:

• Perform administration of physical and virtual server operating systems (Linux and Windows)
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot server hardware, virtual platforms, and network interfaces
• Conduct systems analysis and implementation to ensure infrastructure remains current with evolving technologies
• Perform OS and vendor software patching in accordance with security compliance requirements
• Monitor and optimize server performance using enterprise monitoring tools
• Manage Active Directory, Exchange, and Windows server environments
• Support RHEL 8/9 and Red Hat-based Linux systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across server OS, storage, and networking layers
• Configure and maintain firewalls and network switches (Cisco, Juniper)
• Develop and execute automation scripts to streamline repetitive administrative tasks
• Grant application permissions and provide user support in classified environments

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience
• Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance required at time of hire
• 5+ years relevant systems administration experience
• Strong experience with Linux (RHEL 8/9, Red Hat)
• Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange
• Experience with virtualization platforms and physical server hardware
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including firewalls and Cisco/Juniper switches
• Experience with server patch management and security compliance
• Ability to create and maintain automation scripts
• Experience supporting systems within classified/secure DoD environments
• On-site support required within a classified facility
