In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Logistics Management Series, 0346.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of logistics management operations that involve planning, coordinating, or evaluating contingency support, logistics readiness deployment and execution, war reserve materiel management, base/expeditionary support, sustainment, redeployment, mobility bags/small arms weapons, air terminal operations, and logistics command and control. Knowledge of federal and Department of Defense (DOD) regulations and guidance pertaining to cargo movement including shipment of hazardous cargo, arms, and ammunition. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

- Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Plans and Integration Section ensuring logistics plans, deployment/reception operations, Base Support and Expeditionary (BAS&E) Site Plans, War Reserve Material and Support Agreements comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
- Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignment in consideration of skills, qualifications, and mission requirements.
- Plans and executes contingency, emergency, and/or expeditionary deployments and receptions for the installation. As the Installation Deployment Officer (IDO) serves as the focal point for all wing deployment and/or reception operations and organizations.
- Responsible for providing training, resources, and logistics systems to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the installation deployment processes. Validates identification of Air and Space Expeditionary Force (AEF) taskings, unit assessments of readiness capabilities; identifies limiting factors (LIMFACS) common to expeditionary skills training, storage, and inspection of unit readiness programs.
- Represents the Plans and Integration Section with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with all levels of management throughout the installation; represents the base as the Installation Deployment Officer (IDO); provides input on installation support of wing deployment command and control (C2) processes.

- Ability to plan, organize, and directs the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
