Technical Product Manager

Location: Hybrid | New York, NY or Washington, DC
Clearance: Secret ; U.S. citizenship required
Employment Type: Full-time, salaried, with full benefits

The company & Mission:

We are partnering with an early-stage, venture-backed technology company that is
redefining how the U.S. government manages and disseminates sensitive information.
Their core product applies advanced AI to accelerate secure classification, compliance,
and document workflows across the Department of Defense.

Currently supporting multiple active DoD contracts, this team has raised over $15M from
top-tier investors and is building state-of-the-art AI tools designed specifically for use in
classified and highly regulated environments. This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-moving
startup solving some of the government’s most complex and mission-critical challenges
with cutting-edge technology.

What This Role is All About:

This is the company’s first Product Manager hire and a foundational role in shaping both the
product and the product function. You’ll sit at the center of customers, Customer
Strategists, engineers, and leadership — translating real-world mission needs into clear
product direction. This role is hands-on and execution-oriented, ideal for a PM who enjoys
operating close to users, shipping quickly, and building structure where none exists yet.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Own product vision, strategy, and roadmap in close partnership with founders, engineers, and Customer Strategists
• Translate customer needs, operational workflows, and business priorities into clear product requirements
• Work directly with Customer Strategists and end users to gather feedback, scope features, and validate solutions
• Partner closely with engineering to plan and execute day-to-day delivery, including sprint planning and prioritization
• Ensure features connect clearly to user impact and mission outcomes, not just technical delivery
• Align product priorities with company-level goals in collaboration with executive leadership
• Drive features from concept through launch and iteration in a fast-moving environment
• Help define and evolve product management processes as the team and platform scale

What You Bring:

• U.S. Citizenship: Secret clearance
• 3–6 years of product management experience, ideally in technical or complex problem spaces
• Proven ability to work closely with engineering, customer-facing teams, and senior leadership
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and forming strong product opinions with limited initial structure
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex inputs
• Technical fluency and fast learning velocity, particularly around modern AI systems and platforms
• Track record of defining requirements, shipping features, and iterating based on real user feedback
• Willingness to travel domestically up to ~25%

Bonus Points:

• Experience building products for government, defense, or regulated environments
• Familiarity with classified workflows, compliance regimes, or constrained operating environments
• Prior experience working closely with forward-deployed or customer-embedded teams
• Startup experience as an early or first PM hire
• Exposure to AI/ML-driven products, especially LLM-enabled systems

Benefits:

• Competitive base salary plus meaningful equity upside
• Comprehensive healthcare coverage
• Unlimited PTO
• 401(k)
• Monthly reimbursement for home internet and cell phone
• Generous parental leave
• Monthly wellness stipend
• Quarterly in-person team meetups
• WeWork membership
