Job Title: Cybersecurity System Administrator

Job Summary:

KBR is seeking a Cybersecurity Administrator to join our team at Peterson SFB in Colorado Springs, CO.

The CSA will provide helpdesk and system administration support across DoD NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS networks. This role involves managing and maintaining secure systems, ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards, and supporting mission operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage desktop systems, including hostname creation, OS installation, and local system administration tasks
  • Complete required training for NIPR/SIPR CSA and JWICS administration
  • Provide day-to-day support for all classified and unclassified DoD networks (NIPR, SIPR, JWICS), including troubleshooting and resolving customer issues
  • Process and manage System Authorization Access Requests (SAARs) for system and space access
  • Support the implementation and regular maintenance of IT systems to maintain performance and compliance
  • Maintain hardware assets in accordance with ITEC processes and perform proper destruction or removal of hardware using DRMO procedures
  • Perform installation and configuration of hardware and software to maintain system functionality
  • Install user-requested software and maintain accurate records of all installations
  • Verify that installed software is listed on the DoD Approved Products List (APL) and document compliance
  • Develop and manage procedures and processes related to system administration duties
  • Submit and track helpdesk tickets; resolve problems involving applications, operating systems, hardware, and communications infrastructure
  • Apply cybersecurity best practices to maintain compliance with DoD standards
  • Upgrade systems with new releases and hardware models
  • Assist with cybersecurity audits and implement required updates


Required Qualifications:
  • An active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification preferred; if not currently certified, candidate must obtain certification within 120 days of hire
  • 2-5 years of basic system administration or IT support experience
  • Experience with inventory management and equipment tracking
  • Basic experience with configuring computing hardware, software, and related equipment
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to engage with users, manage requests tactfully, and communicate solutions or alternatives effectively
  • Problem-solving mindset with a customer-service approach
  • Ability to move throughout the work area to support system administration tasks
  • Capable of lifting and transporting computer equipment and related hardware (up to 25 lbs)
  • Comfortable performing inventory checks and handling physical assets as part of daily duties
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and crawl under desks or workstations to install and connect equipment


Desired Qualifications:
  • BS in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline is a plus
  • Other professional certifications (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA, Network+, A+, Linux+, CySA, etc..))
  • Knowledge of configuration management, networking principles and patch management
  • Knowledge of system and cyber security principles
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude


Work Environment:
  • Location: On-site; Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal (0-10%)
  • Working Hours: Normal business hours


Compensation:
  • For Colorado only, the salary range for this position is approximately $95,000 - $105,000. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.


Other Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
