The Software Engineer - Journeyman Level (G3 Training/Operations) supports the Army National Guard (ARNG) by providing full‑stack development for mission‑critical G3 functional area applications. These systems support Readiness, Training, and Mobilization operations, requiring reliable, secure, and scalable software solutions. The engineer develops front‑end interfaces, back‑end data services, workflows, reporting modules, and processing logic in an Agile team environment. The role executes testing and deployment activities in alignment with Army standards, contract requirements, and SDLC processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver full‑stack development for G3 Training & Operations applications, including Readiness, Training, and Mobilization systems.
- Develop frontend interfaces and backend data services that support operational workflows and mission requirements.
- Implement workflows, reporting modules, business logic, and system enhancements.
- Execute testing, quality validation, and deployment tasks according to Army and contractual standards.
- Follow SDLC processes, cybersecurity guidelines, and configuration management practices.
- Collaborate with product owners, analysts, testers, and development teams in Agile feature teams.
- Support troubleshooting, bug fixes, and continuous improvement of G3 applications.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of enterprise IT experience with hands‑on software engineering responsibilities.
- Proficiency in full‑stack development using modern frontend and backend technologies.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, APIs, and data processing.
- Ability to implement application workflows, logic, and reporting features based on functional requirements.
- Experience applying SDLC standards, testing methodologies, and version control tools.
- Ability to work in Agile teams and contribute to incremental delivery cycles.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cloud development experience (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570‑aligned certification.
- Experience with ARNG or Army G3 systems (Readiness, Training, Mobilization applications).
- Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps pipelines.
- Understanding of Army cybersecurity, data governance, and enterprise architecture standards.
