Job Summary
The Software Engineer - Journeyman Level supports the Army National Guard (ARNG) G1 Personnel mission by delivering full‑stack development for critical personnel systems, including SIDPERS, RCAS, and integrations with IPPS‑A. This role designs and implements user interfaces, backend services, processing logic, workflows, and reporting modules to support personnel readiness, administrative functions, and data accuracy across ARNG applications. The engineer ensures all development, testing, and deployment activities comply with Army standards, security requirements, and SDLC processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform full‑stack development for G1 Personnel applications (SIDPERS, RCAS, IPPS‑A integrations).
- Develop frontend interfaces, backend data services, and application workflows supporting personnel operations.
- Implement reporting modules, processing logic, and functional enhancements to enterprise personnel systems.
- Execute testing, validation, and deployment activities in accordance with Army and contract requirements.
- Ensure software follows SDLC standards, cybersecurity requirements, and configuration management processes.
- Collaborate with functional analysts, testers, and system owners to validate requirements and deliver quality solutions.
- Troubleshoot issues, perform code maintenance, and support ongoing application enhancements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of enterprise IT experience, including hands‑on software engineering or application development.
- Experience delivering full‑stack solutions using modern frontend and backend frameworks.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, data processing, and middleware integrations.
- Ability to develop workflows, business logic, and reporting features aligned with user needs.
- Familiarity with SDLC practices, testing standards, and secure software development.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate within large teams and operate in structured, requirements‑driven environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cloud development knowledge (AWS, Azure, or similar environments).
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570‑aligned certification.
- Experience with personnel systems such as SIDPERS, RCAS, or IPPS‑A.
- Familiarity with Army data standards, enterprise architectures, and security policies.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and code versioning tools.
