The Senior Software Developer (ITOM/SecOps) supports the Army National Guard (ARNG) by configuring, enhancing, and maintaining ServiceNow IT Operations Management (ITOM) and Security Operations (SecOps) capabilities. This role enables enterprise visibility, security monitoring, and automated detection/response workflows across ARNG's mission‑critical infrastructure. The developer integrates ServiceNow with security and monitoring tools, builds real‑time operational dashboards, and leads technical initiatives across multiple projects. Key Responsibilities
- Configure ITOM Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management to support enterprise monitoring and operational visibility.
- Implement SecOps workflows for vulnerability response, security incident tracking, and remediation processes.
- Develop integrations with SIEM, IDS/IPS, and other enterprise security tools to enhance threat detection and response.
- Build operational dashboards and reporting views for real‑time infrastructure and security insights.
- Lead major technology assignments and provide subject‑matter expertise across multiple concurrent projects.
- Conduct unit testing, troubleshoot issues, perform code reviews, and ensure secure coding practices.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, network operations, and platform teams to validate integration and architectural alignment.
- May supervise junior developers and guide development best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of enterprise IT experience, with strong background in automation, monitoring, or security operations.
- Expertise with ServiceNow ITOM modules, including Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management.
- Experience implementing SecOps capabilities such as Vulnerability Response and Security Incident Response.
- Strong understanding of SIEM, IDS/IPS, and enterprise security tool integrations.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript), Flow Designer, and configuration of platform components.
- Ability to design dashboards, operational views, and data visualizations within ServiceNow.
- Experience leading major technical efforts and supporting cross‑functional teams.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Required Certifications: CIS‑ITOM, CSA, ITIL 4 Foundation.
Preferred Qualifications
- ServiceNow security‑focused specialist certifications (e.g., VR, SIR).
- Experience integrating ServiceNow with major security tools (Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight, Tenable, Qualys).
- Knowledge of secure software development practices and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS/Azure) and hybrid architecture considerations.
- Experience supervising junior developers or mentoring technical teams.
