About The Role
The NiagaraFiles project is seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support agency Transfer & Decommission (T&D) initiatives impacting the Corp-DDS Operations environment.
This role is mission-critical to ensuring seamless dataflow transitions as legacy systems are decommissioned and modernized within the Corp-DDS ecosystem. Many T&D efforts introduce new dataflow requirements that must be engineered, validated, and deployed in a secure and compliant manner. The Systems Engineering team plays a pivotal role in reviewing Dataflow Management Requests (DMRs), designing scalable solutions, and partnering with Operations to implement production-ready dataflows.
In addition to supporting active T&D initiatives, this position will contribute to strategic dataflow modernization efforts, including migration from hardware-based implementations to virtualized cloud environments.

Target Salary Range: $190,000 - $304,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Systems Engineering SME supporting agency T&D efforts impacting Corp-DDS Operations.
- Review, analyze, and process Dataflow Management Requests (DMRs).
- Engineer and document end-to-end dataflow solutions aligned with mission and operational requirements.
- Translate evolving dataflow requirements into actionable engineering specifications.
- Collaborate closely with Operations teams to rebuild and deploy dataflows within Corp-DDS.
- Lead or support modernization initiatives migrating legacy hardware-based dataflows to virtualized cloud environments.
- Evaluate existing dataflows and redesign them for scalability, resilience, and performance optimization.
- Develop systems architectural diagrams depicting software components, system integrations, and dataflow architectures.
- Provide analytical and technical expertise to ensure mission data continuity during T&D transitions.
Qualifications
- Twenty (20) years' experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
- Bachelor's degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with current polygraph required
