The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in macOS administration, enterprise device management, and Apple ecosystem integration. Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator - Apple macOS to manage, secure, and optimize enterprise Apple environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in macOS administration, enterprise device management, and Apple ecosystem integration. This role ensures seamless user experience, strong security posture, and reliable operations for macOS and iOS devices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
macOS Engineering & Administration
- Administer, deploy, and manage macOS devices in a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Configure and maintain macOS profiles, policies, and security baselines.
- Integrate macOS with enterprise services (Active Directory/LDAP, Exchange, identity platforms, cloud storage).
- Support macOS hardware and OS lifecycle management, including testing and evaluation of new releases.
Software Deployment, Updates & Security
- Deploy software, patches, and security updates across macOS endpoints.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, regulatory requirements, and corporate IT standards.
- Implement secure configuration baselines and hardening standards for macOS and iOS devices.
MDM & Automation
- Build, maintain, and administer Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions (Jamf Pro, Intune).
- Develop, deploy, and maintain custom scripts, policies, and configuration profiles (shell scripting, AppleScript, Python, Automator, Launchd).
- Automate provisioning, onboarding, and configuration workflows.
Troubleshooting & Advanced Support
- Troubleshoot complex macOS issues involving hardware, software, networking, authentication, and security.
- Diagnose interoperability issues across macOS, iOS, and iPadOS devices.
- Install, configure, and support MacBooks, iPads, and iPhones.
Documentation & Collaboration
- Maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.
- Collaborate with security, networking, and application teams to ensure seamless integration and support.
- Participate in cross-platform initiatives involving hybrid Mac/Windows environments.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field and 8 years of experience. 4 years of additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- 5 years of macOS systems administration experience in an enterprise environment.
- Strong experience with Apple device management solutions (Jamf Pro, Intune, or similar).
- Proficiency with macOS deployment, imaging, and configuration tools.
- Experience troubleshooting macOS, iOS, and iPadOS hardware/software interoperability issues.
- Experience imaging, configuring, deploying, and supporting MacBooks, iPads, and iPhones.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (AppleScript, Shell, Python, Automator, Launchd).
- DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+).
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) or Apple Certified IT Professional (ACiT).
- Experience managing hybrid Mac and Windows environments.
- Knowledge of enterprise software packaging and deployment for macOS applications.
