About The Role
Peraton requires Systems Engineers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3 EOM. This position is located at MacDill AFB in Florida.
The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.
The Systems Engineer for Red Hat PKI will be the subject matter expert for designing, implementing, and managing our Linux-based Public Key Infrastructure. This role is dedicated to the governance and advancement of the Red Hat Certificate System, ensuring robust and secure certificate lifecycle management for our Linux enterprise environment. The Engineer will focus on the administration of Certificate Authorities, OCSP services, and ensuring seamless integration with our global security initiatives.

Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

- Lead the planning, deployment, and operational management of the Red Hat Certificate System.
- Administer the entire lifecycle of digital certificates within a Red Hat Linux environment, including issuance, renewal, and revocation.
- Develop and maintain a variety of certificate profiles and templates to support diverse application and system requirements.
- Ensure the high availability, security, and performance of Red Hat Certificate Authorities and related services.
- Automate PKI and certificate management tasks using shell scripting (Bash) and other automation tools.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for all technical issues related to the Red Hat PKI infrastructure.
- Provide support to the SOF Integration Facility in the fielding of new technology and capabilities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Min 12 years with HS Diploma, 10 years with AS/AA degree, 8 years with BS/BA, or 6 years with MS/MA, 3 years with a PhD
- DoD 8570 IAT II Certification
- DoD TS/SCI clearance
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience managing a Red Hat or other Linux-based PKI environment.
- Proven experience in a Systems Administration role within a large enterprise.
- Strong proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, security, and performance tuning.
- Solid understanding of PKI principles, including certificate lifecycle, X.509 standards, and cryptographic protocols.
- Demonstrated experience with shell scripting (Bash) or Python for system administration and automation.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex issues in a Linux environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting systems and procedures.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotation for emergency support.
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) OR
- Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) OR
- Other relevant industry certifications demonstrating expertise in Linux and security.
