MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Radio Frequency (RF) Manager to join our team working in Lexington Park, MD. This is an onsite position.
The RF Manager will provide technical leadership and hands-on integration oversight for mobile and fixed-site RF and LMR systems, supporting DoD and public safety mission environments. This role includes fixed-site, mobile, in-building, and tactical platforms and focuses on system modernization, configuration, testing, and performance validation to ensure all communications capabilities meet defined operational requirements, technical standards, and Government acceptance criteria.

The RF Manager will provide technical leadership and hands-on integration oversight for mobile and fixed-site RF and LMR systems, supporting DoD and public safety mission environments. This role includes fixed-site, mobile, in-building, and tactical platforms and focuses on system modernization, configuration, testing, and performance validation to ensure all communications capabilities meet defined operational requirements, technical standards, and Government acceptance criteria.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead the integration, configuration, and validation of LMR systems-including P25, analog, and trunked radio platforms-ensuring modernization and upgrade efforts align with defined technical requirements
- Serve as the RF Integration Lead, overseeing installation, configuration, and testing activities while ensuring compliance with Government-defined schedules and performance standards
- Manage and coordinate RF technicians and subject matter experts to execute integration, staging, and multi-site deployment activities efficiently and effectively
- Perform and oversee formal system testing, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and documented performance validation with measurable acceptance criteria
- Conduct RF troubleshooting and root cause analysis across VHF, UHF, and 700/800 MHz Line-of-Sight (LoS) systems, including repeaters, antenna systems, and associated RF infrastructure
- Engineer, troubleshoot, and validate RF subsystems-including repeaters, combiners, multicouplers, filters, duplexers, antenna systems, and transmission lines-to meet established performance specifications
- Configure and validate IP-based radio networks and VLAN-enabled systems to ensure reliable WAN/LAN interoperability and operational continuity
- Develop, revise, and maintain formal integration documentation, system diagrams, test plans, SOPs, interoperability documentation, and system performance reports to support lifecycle modernization efforts
- Provide direct technical support to Government customers during integration, troubleshooting, and upgrade activities while ensuring compliance with regulatory, spectrum management, and program-specific communications standards
- Travel up to 50%
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in RF, LMR, or communications system integration
- 5+ years of hands-on experience integrating, configuring, and testing LMR systems in Government or regulated environments
- 5+ years of experience performing RF troubleshooting, system validation, and documented acceptance testing
- Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating technical personnel to execute integration and modernization tasks on schedule
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, RF engineering, telecommunications engineering, or related technical field
- Advanced technical training in electronics, RF systems, or telecommunications engineering
Clearance Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a current or United States Government Secret security clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
