Role Overview:
Our Aerospace client is looking for a full-time Field Service Representative (FSR) to join our team. In this position, you will play a crucial role supporting the integration and test of networked communication systems. These consultants will be traveling to Navy bases to teach sailors how to install, connect, troubleshoot, and support the communication pods that our client makes.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include the following:
Provide on-site technical support for the operation of podded communication systems
Provide technical liaison to supported military units/elements
Develop and maintain technical documentation which includes test plans and procedures
Develop configurations to support tests and prototypes of developing systems
Develop troubleshooting procedures and work-around documentation
Conduct systems and sub-systems testing
Review and provide feedback on system specifications, development, test, and network documents
Install and configure Windows/Linux servers
Set up and maintain DNS/Exchange/Active Directory
Maintain virtual environments
Deploy, monitor, and maintain network gear to include switches, servers, firewalls, etc. and troubleshoot network related problems
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
4+ years of experience with systems testing, networking, or other IT related fields
Tactical Data Link familiarity (e.g. CDL, TTNT, L-16 (Link 16), SADL, etc.) required.
Hands-on experience installing, testing, and troubleshooting RF and tactical communications equipment (antennas, cabling, radios, modems, encryption devices).
Live field testing, experience with military communication systems required. **Most important**
Working knowledge on network security devices (e.g. firewall, NGFW, IPS, IDS)
Working knowledge on event management systems.
Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) computer and radio systems
Working knowledge of routing, switching, protocols, VLANs, IP subnetting, LAN, WAN, etc
Must possess high proficiency in Linux and Windows
Must have a high-level understanding of automation and implementation
