Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Senior Manager, Programs for a large-scale program located in Oklahoma City, OK or Melbourne, FL.The position reports to the Director of Sustainment programs and supports program execution for a growing portfolio.

The role is responsible for leading all execution elements of assigned program including life cycle management, quality, cost, schedule, and technical performance and input to proposal development. Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Profit and Loss Ownership - lead P&L for a high complexity, high-rate production program, driving cost effective scaling and profitability.
  • Cross Functional Integration - partner with the Integrated Program Team (IPT) and other functional groups to meet quality, cost, schedule, and technical performance targets.
  • Performance Management - establish, track, and act on key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure predictable, on track program execution.
  • Daily Rhythm & Cost Control - run the program's daily "heartbeat" meetings, maintain rigorous cost management discipline, and provide accurate estimates to complete (ETC).
  • Baseline & Earned Value Management - enforce adherence to program, business, and technical baselines; utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) to monitor cost schedule performance.
  • Scope & Change Control - ensure the team fully understands contract scope and follows formal change control processes for any modifications.
  • Manage Change Execution -identify and quantify impacts of changes and ensure transition of changes into the production system.
  • Risk, Issue & Opportunity Management - conduct systematic risk assessments, develop mitigation plans, and track opportunity realization throughout the program lifecycle. Identify, prioritize, and mitigate risks; resolve issues with urgency; capture and realize opportunities to protect schedule and budget.
  • Proposal Support - support program proposal activities by identifying, quantifying, and coordinating impacts for changes or new proposal efforts.
  • Compliance & Standards - ensure compliance with all internal policies, processes, and applicable industry standards and regulations.
  • Communication & Culture - drive timely decision making, communicate outcomes clearly across the program, and foster a culture of ownership and joint accountability.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years (or Bachelor of Science in STEM and 9 years) of related experience as defined below, OR a Master's degree and 8 years (or Master of Science in STEM and 7 years) of related experience as defined below:
  • Related experience includes professional and/or military experience to include a background in project management, program management, engineering, capture efforts, and/or business management related functions.
  • Must have 3-5 years of leadership/management experience, either leading direct reports or integrated product teams.
  • Must have 3-5 years of Earned Value Management experience.
  • 3-5 years of successful P&L experience on a large aircraft production or sustainment program.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • STEM Degree.
  • Business Development or program management/execution experience in one or more programs / captures.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM).
  • Experience leading a large, aircraft .
  • Top Secret clearance or current program access.
  • Strong understanding of national strategy, military roles and missions, organization, enterprise process and business contacts.
  • Master's degree and advanced training in program management and capture management.


The pay range for Oklahoma City, OK is $158,000 to $237,000.

The pay range for Melbourne, FL is $166K to $250,100.

Primary Level Salary Range: $158,000.00 - $250,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
