Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Field Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Principal Electronics Engineer to join our team. This position will be based in Baltimore, MD and will require travel for assignments to support customer requirements. Working for the Airborne Multi-Functions Sensors Division, the Principal Electronics Engineer will be responsible for providing technical assistance with the installation, and test support phase.
This position entails system integration and test, installation and checkout, and pre-production support of platform delivery. Will require knowledge of test equipment, in-field modifications, troubleshooting and repair, and field support. The Principal Electronics Engineer will be expected to follow the system(s) into the field and support other engineering activities associated with radar system support. This role involves working hands-on to provide engineering support to Northrop Grumman's customers as they execute their missions. This position will be based in Baltimore and will require an eventual long-term assignment of at least 2 years in the field in Texas region. Extended working hours or shift work may be required to support surging activities.

Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Participate in all aspects of the system life cycle activities with a primary focus on hardware/software integration and sustainment related activities.
- Participate in Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations as required.
- Perform electronics/electrical troubleshooting for Prime Mission Equipment and related test equipment.
- Ability to support data analysis, digital Instrumentation using special test equipment and software /hardware tool
- Able to comfortably multitask while working in a team environment or independently.
- Must be an effective communicator and possess good organizational skills to manage frequent intra-organizational and customer interactions.
- Willingness to learn new things, seeks out opportunities to add value.
- Ability to prioritize projects and decision making.
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Electronics Engineer:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field and a minimum of 5 years related experience or Master's Degree (with BS in STEM) and 3 years of related experience.
- 3 years experience with RF, Electrical and Electronics systems
- 3 years experience with the following lab support equipment: digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers
- Must be willing and able to travel and take on a 2-year assignment in Texas after being trained and cleared
- Must have a current/active DoD secret clearance. Must be able to obtain special program access. Active Secret clearance investigated within the last 5 years, and special program access is required to start. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance and program access for continued employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in radar technology and modes of operation, RF technology, stimulator, target generator and digital bench type systems
- Hardware/software/Integration and system test experience is desirable.
- Effective verbal and written communications with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize work schedules and tasks.
