Position Overview
Our client, a federal systems integrator supporting Department of Defense (DoD) missions, is seeking a Cloud Cyber Security Engineer SME to support a high-visibility program at Hill AFB. This role focuses on securing cloud environments in alignment with DoD security requirements, including Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA) and Trusted Cloud Credential Management (TCCM).
The ideal candidate brings hands-on cloud security experience across one or more major Cloud Service Providers (OCI, Azure, or AWS) and has a strong background in compliance-driven environments. You will play a critical role in maintaining the security posture of mission systems, supporting cloud onboarding and migrations, and ensuring continuous monitoring and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and manage Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA) controls, including Virtual Data Center Security Stack (VDSS) and Boundary Cloud Access Point (BCAP).
Ensure cloud environments comply with DoD security frameworks, including NIST, STIGs, and FedRAMP+.
Manage and enforce Trusted Cloud Credential Management (TCCM) practices for secure identity and credential access.
Configure and maintain cloud security monitoring, alerting, and logging using tools such as SolarWinds, ELK, and native CSP security services.
Support secure cloud onboarding and migration activities.
Collaborate with engineering and security teams to implement Zero Trust principles within cloud environments.
Assist with ATO documentation, including inherited control mapping and eMASS contributions.
Provide cloud security guidance and mentor junior team members.
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field
(Equivalent professional experience will be considered)
Certifications
Secret Clearance and IAT Level II Certified - CompTIA Security+ or etc. (Required)
DoD-approved cloud security certifications preferred
(e.g., AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Azure Security Engineer)
Experience
5+ years of hands-on cloud security experience
Practical experience securing environments in OCI, Azure, or AWS
Strong background in IAM, logging, monitoring, and cloud security controls
Experience with vulnerability management, incident response, and compliance activities
