Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Summer 2026 Systems Engineer Intern for R&M Capabilities. In this role, you will be working under the guidance of senior R&M engineers, the intern will assist in developing maintenance procedures, supporting reliability analyses, and contributing to review board activities. This role provides exposure to system-level engineering, lifecycle sustainment planning, and structured reliability methodologies within a disciplined engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support Reliability & Maintainability Review Board activities including failure data review, anomaly tracking, preparation of meeting materials, and documentation of action items
• Assist with reliability and maintainability predictions and supporting data analysis
• Support Level of Repair Analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis, and Maintenance Task Analysis activities

The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of system-level engineering. Must be a U.S. Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline

• Exposure to technical documentation such as technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, or engineering drawings

• Strong written communication skills with ability to document technical procedures clearly and logically

• Must be a U.S. Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills:
• Familiarity with reliability tools such as RBDs, FMECA, FRACAS, LORA, RCMA, or MTA concepts

• Familiarity with common network hardware such as switches, routers, servers, and firewalls

• Coursework or project experience involving reliability engineering, maintainability, or systems engineering

• Experience using MBSE tools, reliability prediction tools, or data analysis tools

• Experience supporting review boards, technical reviews, or data package preparation

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
