SailPoint Identity Governance Lead
Location: Remote with quarterly travel minimum. Additional travel as required by government customer. Clearance: Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility preferred. Active Secret required with ability and willingness to obtain DoD Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
Overview
We are seeking a senior SailPoint Identity Governance Leader to architect, build, and evolve a large-scale identity governance capability supporting a high visibility Department of Defense program. This is a build role inside an advanced development environment. You will operate at the intersection of governance, enterprise data, and modern authorization models.
This position requires both architectural authority and hands-on development expertise. You must be comfortable writing code, extending the SailPoint platform, and working within a disciplined development environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Own the SailPoint platform as the enterprise identity governance backbone.
• Architect and implement SailPoint IdentityIQ in a complex classified environment.
• Design authoritative source strategies, identity data models, and attribute normalization standards.
• Develop and customize SailPoint using Java, BeanShell, APIs, and platform extension mechanisms.
• Build and maintain custom connectors, workflows, rules, and integration components.
• Define scalable role models, entitlement governance structures, and certification frameworks.
• Integrate SailPoint with all required enterprise applications.
• Collaborate closely with enterprise data engineering teams to ensure identity attributes are structured for downstream authorization and policy decision engines.
• Operate within CI CD pipelines and contribute to secure, automated deployment patterns.
• Provide architectural leadership while remaining hands on in implementation and troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications
• Ten or more years of enterprise identity and access management experience.
• Five or more years of deep SailPoint architecture and hands on development experience specifically within IdentityIQ.
• Strong Java development skills with experience extending SailPoint through custom code.
• Experience developing connectors, rules, workflows, and integrations inside SailPoint.
• Demonstrated experience designing enterprise role models and entitlement governance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of identity lifecycle management processes.
• Experience operating in advanced development shops using version control, automated builds, and secure coding practices.
• Ability to work independently in fast paced, evolving research and development environments.
• Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility preferred. Active Secret required with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (SSBI).
Desired Experience
• Experience supporting Department of Defense or Intelligence Community programs.
• Experience aligning identity governance data with modern authorization and Zero Trust architectures.
• Experience contributing to secure DevSecOps environments.
• Experience leading technical teams as programs scale.
Impact
You will shape identity governance architecture at enterprise scale. You will build foundational capabilities rather than inherit legacy implementations. You will operate in an advanced engineering environment where governance, data, and authorization converge to support mission critical systems.
