QED Systems, LLC, is currently recruiting a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD to support our C5ISR Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Division contract.
This is a Systems Engineering and Technical Advisor (SETA) position with an expectation to assume “hands-on” responsibilities for leadership, execution, and completion of projects and programs within the PNT Division portfolio.
Use your experience in Radio Frequency (RF), Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Communications / Signals Engineering, or Software Engineering with a background in data analysis and hardware integration to execute duties including but not limited to the following:
Duties:
Serve as an engineer and team member with responsibility for a portion of an S&T effort. Prepare contract documentation defining requirements, objectives to be obtained and standards of performance.
Develop techniques and improve algorithms to exploit and combine sensor data.
Develop novel and/or improve existing techniques, processes, materials, and/or algorithms, and/or equipment in assigned systems.
Develop integrated systems leveraging commercial sensor technologies and prototype software.
Design, analyze, and test digital, analog, and complex electronics and electronic circuit designs.
Conduct testing, characterization and evaluation of sensors, components and systems to verify quality, functionality, and performance of designed products, validating collected test data against program requirements and providing feedback via written reports.
Develop lab-based software implementations to evaluate and test algorithms and techniques leveraging tools such as MatLab or Python.
Write Python code to integrate multiple pieces of test hardware.
Write software for coordinating multiple pieces of test equipment and data collection and to perform subsequent data analysis.
Required Skills & Experience:
Critical thinking and initiative.
Detail-oriented with technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
MatLab and/or Python script writing.
Data Collection, Analysis and Hardware Integration.
Familiarity with RF Signal Processing.
Experience with basic lab equipment and tools.
Required Clearance:
ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Secret
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree is required. Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related scientific /technical discipline preferred.
A minimum of ten (10) years of related experience is required.
Travel:
Up to 25% travel is expected for this position. Travel may include continental United States and outside continental United States locations.
Work Environment:
This position may be performed in a variety of locations, including but not limited to, commercial and/or government offices, test and integration labs, government facilities and depots, and test & evaluation and proving grounds.
Physical Demands:
Physical demands of this position include ability to:
Be independently mobile.
Communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.
Withstand prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and computer use.
Climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as glasses/goggles (eyes), ear plugs/muffs (hearing), hard hats, and breathing respirators/masks.
