Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill a Xpedition PCB Designer position that has just opened in McLeansville, NC (Hybrid). In this role, you will support the design and development of high-reliability electronics for undersea and aerospace communication systems. You will perform PCB layout, ECAD library management, and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure design accuracy and compliance with DoD and IPC standards. To be considered, you must have an Associate's degree or equivalent experience, 7+ years of PCB design experience, and hands-on experience with Mentor Graphics Xpedition. U.S. citizenship is required, and Secret clearance is preferred or obtainable.

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
The PCB Designer will support Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) development by performing PCB layout, ECAD library management, and design documentation for aerospace and defense electronics.
Responsibilities include:
- Support CCA (Circuit Card Assembly) development for high-reliability undersea and aerospace electronics
- Perform PCB layout and ECAD library development using Mentor Graphics Xpedition
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams to ensure design accuracy and producibility
- Prepare and maintain complete design documentation packages in accordance with DoD and IPC standards
Basic Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant PCB design and ECAD experience
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience using Mentor Graphics Xpedition
- Experience with ECAD/PCB layout design processes
- Experience with library management practices
Security Clearance Requirements
- Department of Defense Secret clearance preferred or ability to obtain one within a reasonable timeframe after hire
- Selected candidates will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation
- Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
- U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work performed.
- Experience with Mentor Graphics tools including:
- Xpedition
- xDM
- DXdatabook
- BoardStation
- HyperLynx
- Experience with Altium is a plus
- Strong background in ECAD library management, including:
- Xpedition parts request system
- Footprint Expert Enterprise 23
- 3D model creation using SolidWorks, NX, or CREO
- Circuit design experience and hands-on prototyping capability
- Working knowledge of IPC standards and electronic manufacturing requirements
- In-depth understanding of CCA fabrication techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers to clarify design documentation packages
- Experience with schematic capture in Xpedition
- Documentation development experience, including:
- Bills of Material (BOMs)
- ODB++ digital fabrication packages
- 3D model generation
