Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill an Altium PCB Designer position that has just opened in McLeansville, NC (Hybrid/Onsite). In this role, you will support high-reliability undersea and aerospace communication programs by performing PCB layout, schematic capture, and design documentation using Altium Designer. You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams to deliver compliant, mission-critical electronics solutions. To be considered, you must have an Associate's degree (or equivalent experience) and 7+ years of PCB design experience, including 4+ years of hands-on Altium experience. U.S. citizenship is required, and Secret clearance is preferred or obtainable.

Location: McLeansville, NC (Hybrid/Onsite)
Position: Altium PCB Designer (Contract)
Contract: 12 Months
Pay: $57.77 per hour
Shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

The Altium PCB Designer will support Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) development for high-reliability defense and undersea communication systems.

Responsibilities include:
  • Design and support PCB layouts and schematics for high?reliability defense electronics
  • Support CCA development for undersea and aerospace communication systems
  • Create and maintain design documentation packages including:
    • Bill of Materials (BOM)
    • ODB++ digital fabrication files
    • 3D models
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams
  • Interface with suppliers to clarify design documentation and fabrication requirements
  • Ensure designs align with IPC and manufacturing standards


Basic Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant PCB design experience
  • At least 4 years of hands?on experience using Altium Designer
  • U.S. Citizenship required


Security Clearance Requirements
  • DoD Secret clearance preferred or ability to obtain one within a reasonable time after hire
  • Candidates selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information


Preferred Skills and Experience Technical Tools & Design
  • Altium Designer 27 or Altium IPC footprint and schematic generators
  • Experience with Altium or Xpedition library management practices
  • Mentor Graphics tools: xDM, Xpedition, DXDatabook, BoardStation, HyperLynx
  • Schematic capture experience in Altium and/or Xpedition
  • Experience with Footprint Expert

Mechanical & Modeling
  • 3D modeling experience using SolidWorks, NX, or CREO

Manufacturing & Standards
  • Basic knowledge of IPC standards and manufacturing processes
  • In?depth knowledge of CCA fabrication techniques
  • Hands?on circuit design and prototyping experience
