Job Summary
The Senior Software Architect (ServiceNow Lead) serves as the enterprise technical authority for the Army National Guard (ARNG) ServiceNow platform. This position leads the architectural design, roadmap development, and governance of ServiceNow capabilities across the organization. The architect owns the platform's module strategy, data model, security configuration, and integration standards to ensure scalability, compliance, and alignment with DoD and ARNG enterprise objectives. The role requires expert‑level leadership, strategic vision, and hands‑on architectural oversight to guide the platform through modernization and Technical Refreshment initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and strategy for all enterprise ServiceNow initiatives.
• Own the ServiceNow technical architecture, including module selection, data model, and security configuration.
• Define the ServiceNow platform roadmap and target‑state architecture for modernization and Technical Refreshment efforts.
• Establish integration patterns, multi‑instance strategy, and environment management standards.
• Review and approve technical design packages to ensure DoD and ARNG compliance.
• Guide major technical initiatives and provide expert‑level input across multiple projects.
• Supervise and mentor technical team members working within the ServiceNow ecosystem.
• Ensure ServiceNow solutions align with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and operational requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise IT environments.
• Expertise leading architecture of ServiceNow enterprise implementations.
• Deep knowledge of ServiceNow modules, ITSM/ITOM practices, data models, and integration strategies.
• Experience defining platform security, RBAC, CMDB structure, and governance controls.
• Proven ability to lead enterprise‑scale modernization or technical refresh initiatives.
• Strong communication, leadership, and supervisory skills.
• Required certifications: CSA, CAD, CIS‑ITSM, CIS‑ITOM, ITIL 4 Foundation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional ServiceNow specialty certifications (e.g., Discovery, Service Mapping, SecOps, CSM).
• Experience with DoD or Army enterprise architecture requirements.
• Familiarity with cloud hosting, DevSecOps pipelines, and enterprise cybersecurity frameworks.
• Background supporting large-scale, mission‑critical platforms.
