MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Network Engineer to join our team in Norfolk, VA. This is an onsite position.
Join the Navy's Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) program and contribute to the evolution of warfighter readiness. We provide critical engineering and technical expertise for the U.S. Navy's premier Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) training capability. Our work involves seamlessly integrating live training with synthetic systems to create highly realistic and complex global training environments. We also drive the development of advanced representations for joint, theater, and national systems, and model new weapons technologies and emerging threats, ensuring our forces are prepared for any challenge.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Providing network security support to Navy operational and training networks focused specifically on the Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN)
- Ensuring uninterrupted network connectivity to customers and sites by planning and executing the installation of new capabilities, as well as operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting network connectivity and infrastructure on enterprise managed networks including support of multiple network enclaves across classification levels
- Identifying and analyzing systems requirements, developing and maintaining system applications and security, developing and maintaining network configurations, as well as developing and maintaining a disaster recovery plan
- Support establishment and maintenance of various networks across the NCTE enterprise environment, including IP, LAN, WAN, and MPLS among others
- Running network protocols, network engineering techniques and architectures in support of Navy training and operational requirements
- Working directly with government and contractor personnel receiving engineering oversight form the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Corona Division
- Analyzing site survey reports to ensure accurate network engineering planning
- Support the procurement of network device hardware and software and oversee their installation and integration into the NCTE based on the approved network portfolio
- Set-up, configuration, and support of internal and external networks, to include proficiency with network performance monitoring tools
- Up to 25% travel required or as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and 3+ years of relevant network engineering experience
- Must have a Computing Environment/Operating System (CE/OS) certification
- Must have IAT-II certification (ex. CompTia Sec+)
- Knowledge of a combination of network standards, protocols, security, and applications; capabilities and applications of network equipment (ex. hubs, routers, switches, bridges, firewalls, servers, transmission media, and/or related hardware); network architecture and infrastructure; LAN/WAN principles and concepts including bandwidth management; network systems design, development, testing, installation, operations, management, and maintenance concepts and methods
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years of relevant work experience as a network engineer within a U.S. Government environment, DoD strongly preferred
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related field
- Active CCNA certification
- Experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or Network Operations Security Center (NOSC) environment including help desk, customer communication, trouble ticketing, and issue resolution
- Familiarity with cloud-based network management platforms for microwave systems
Clearance Requirements:
- Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
