As a Structural Technician V, you will be the subject matter expert and primary point of contact for the most complex and critical aerospace assembly operations. This senior role demands an unparalleled level of technical expertise, leadership, and innovative thinking. You will drive strategic initiatives, mentor other technicians, and ensure the integration of state-of-the-art assembly techniques to maintain the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the most complex aerospace assembly operations.
  • Lead and execute the most critical and high-impact projects.
  • Provide expert technical guidance to all technician levels.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in assembly processes and techniques.
  • Act as the primary liaison between production, engineering, and senior management.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and quality assurance checks on all assembly operations.
  • Develop and implement advanced training programs for the technician team.
  • Ensure the highest standards of maintenance and calibration of all tools and equipment.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive improvements and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Represent the company in industry forums and conferences as a technical expert.


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Expertise in blueprint reading, technical documentation, and advanced assembly techniques.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications; ability to complete installations per technical drawings while maintaining edge distance and pitch.
  • Proficiency in structure assembly, minor part fitting techniques and repair and refinishing such as airframe corrosion removal, as applicable.
  • Ability to install various fasteners such as rivets and hi-locks.
  • Must have own tools in good working order.


Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Associate's degree in aerospace manufacturing or related discipline.
  • Renowned certifications in aerospace manufacturing and assembly.
  • Extensive experience managing complex, high-impact projects and leading technical teams.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Prior experience in a Lead role; the ability to mentor, train, guide. and inspect the work of subordinates.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.


Essential Functions:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Required to be on your feet for most of the work shift.
  • Use of hand and power tools requiring hand/finger dexterity.
  • Exposure to noisy and potentially hazardous environments; proper safety gear must be worn.
  • Ability to travel may be required.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $40.14 - $55.19. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants.
