As an Aircraft Maintenance Manager I, you will oversee and manage all aspects of aircraft maintenance, ensuring that maintenance tasks are performed safely, efficiently, and within budget. You will be responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance activities, supervising maintenance teams, and ensuring the airworthiness of the fleet. This role requires strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards.

The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end-to-end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. Responsibilities:
  • Plan and schedule aircraft maintenance and repair activities to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Supervise and manage maintenance personnel, ensuring they are qualified and adhere to safety standards and procedures.
  • Conduct foreign object inspections and ensure all maintenance activities comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Establish work standards, schedules, and shifts to maximize efficiency on maintenance projects.
  • Analyze maintenance delays and system issues to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure the airworthiness and safe operation of the fleet at all times, except for platform support programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  • Liaise with other departments and stakeholders to coordinate maintenance activities and resolve issues.
  • Monitor and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring financial resources are used effectively.
  • Stay updated with industry developments, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.


Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 7+ years of aviation experience.
  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 11 years of related experience is required.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and regulatory requirements [e.g., FAA, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)].
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
  • General knowledge and understanding of FAA regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Experience with Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection processes and procedures and/or returning planes to service.
  • Ability to deploy for an extended amount of time to various OCONUS operating locations.
  • Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
  • Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
  • Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays, and shift schedules as required.
  • Current/ valid passport and be able to obtain a visa to travel internationally.
  • Willing to deploy OCONUS on an approximate 60/30 rotation.
  • An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required day 1 of employment


NOTE: A United States Government Security Clearance is required for employment. Applicants who do not currently have a USG security clearance are welcome to apply and, if selected, will be processed for a USG security clearance by SNC prior to employment. Employment will begin once the USG security clearance is granted. If applicant is unable to obtain USG security clearance, the offer of employment will be withdrawn.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Master's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with Six Sigma or Lean methodologies.
  • Previous management or lead experience; the ability to recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
