As the Engineering Program Manager for Next Generation Launchers, you will drive the development of cutting edge missile launch solutions that enhance the United States' defense capabilities. Your work will directly support the Army, Navy, and Missile Defense Agency, ensuring rapid, reliable fielding of advanced launch platforms.
THE WORK
The Next Generation Launchers (NGL) Engineering Program Manager will leads one or more of the following launcher programs-CAML, Golden Dome, Expeditionary, and Hypersonic-coordinating efforts across engineering, systems, and test teams while interfacing with key customers. This role ensures technical integrity, cost, schedule, and risk are managed to deliver mission critical capabilities.
In this role you will:
• Lead cross disciplinary engineering teams to deliver NGL programs, ensuring technical integrity, cost, schedule, and risk are managed in alignment with customer requirements.
• Serve as the primary liaison between Engineering & Technology and Program Management, translating program tasks into actionable work packages for Systems Engineering, Operations Center, and Launcher IPT teams.
• Oversee resource planning and allocation to meet technical needs across CAML, Golden Dome, Expeditionary, and Hypersonic launcher initiatives.
• Manage earned value and risk assessments, providing weekly status updates to customers (US Army, MDA, US Navy) and senior leadership.
• Drive implementation of One Lockheed Martin Transformation (1LMX) principles to continuously improve processes and product development lifecycle.
• Conduct cost estimating and proposal development for programs exceeding $5 M, acting as Control Account Manager to ensure financial performance.
• Apply expertise in MK41 Vertical Launching Systems, Expeditionary Launching System, and advanced launcher technologies to guide design and integration efforts.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline along with 9 yrs relevant engineering experience including experience as an Integrated Product Team Lead or similar role on a development program.
• Demonstrated competence in leading cross-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of product development processes, including hardware, software and systems.
• Proficiency in earned value, schedule, cost, and risk management techniques.
• Experience as Control Account Manager on a program valued at over $5M.
• Experience with cost estimating / proposal development.
• Must be able to obtain & maintain a security clearance at the SECRET level.
Desired Skills:
• The candidate must have excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills and be able to communicate at both programmatic and technical levels with subordinates, peers, senior management levels and customers.
• We prefer the candidate have a strong understanding of one or more of the following:
o Military product development and customer experience including Department of Defense, Missile Defense Agency, US Navy, US Army and/or Marines
o Knowledge of Digital Transformation principles and ability to drive implementation of improvements.
o Knowledge of MK41 Vertical Launching Systems, Expeditionary Launching System, and Advanced Launcher Products.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 - $226,435. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
