Description:This Technical Editor/Writer position will be responsible for producing, reviewing, and maintaining high-quality procedural and/or technical documentation that accurately conveys space command media and local policy and procedures into programmatic information to internal and external audiences. This role blends strong writing and editorial skills with a solid understanding of technical subjects, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements. This role will be home based at the Courtland, AL campus and will support the Huntsville, AL campus 50% of the time.
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with policy, procedural and/or technical writing/editing experience, preferably in aerospace, defense, or a similarly regulated environment.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts for varied audiences.
• Proficiency with documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Adobe FrameMaker, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint).
• Knowledge of document control systems and configuration management.
Desired Skills:
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts for varied audiences.
• Superior command of English grammar, punctuation, and style.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and data tables.
• Regulatory Awareness Familiarity with DoD documentation standards (e.g., MIL-STDs, OSHA standards, FAR, DFAR) and security classification handling is a plus.
• Analytical Thinking: Quickly grasp complex technical concepts and distill them into clear, actionable information.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Attention to Detail: Ensure precision, consistency, and correctness across all documentation.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
