About the Role:
TEKsystems is partnering with a government integrator to support a long term, mission critical United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) program. We are seeking Software Engineers with strong Java development skills to join an Agile, highly collaborative team working on the Nuclear Planning and Execution System (NPES)—the nation’s only survivable automated command and control system supporting global strategic operations.
This is an onsite position supporting both Northrop Grumman and Offutt AFB locations. Candidates must have an active Secret clearance and be available for full-time onsite work.
Responsibilities:
• Develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based software within a cross-functional Scrum team.
• Participate in acceptance criteria development and Agile ceremonies.
• Implement modern software engineering best practices, CI/CD, DevOps, and automated testing.
• Utilize Angular, HTML, and CSS for front-end web development.
• Use Git/Mercurial for source control and work within Linux and Windows environments.
• Contribute to documentation, integration activities, and automation through COTS tools.
• Collaborate within an open, Agile work environment with core hours of 9:00–3:00.
Required Qualifications:
• Active Secret DoD Security Clearance
• U.S. Citizenship (required due to clearance requirements)
• Strong experience with Java development
• Experience with Angular, HTML, CSS
• Solid understanding of object-oriented development
• Familiarity with:
o Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, XP)
o CI/CD pipelines
o Git or Mercurial version control
o Linux and Windows OS
o Microsoft Office Tools
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills:
• Experience supporting mission-critical government systems
• Exposure to NPES or other command-and-control systems
• DevOps tooling and automation experience
