JOB TITLE: Cyber Security Support Technician
AGENCY SUPPORTED: Department of the Navy - Commander, Naval Surface Force Atlantic (CNSL) Mission Readiness, Alteration Baseline, Integration & Network Infrastructure Support Services
POSITION TYPE: Full-Time, Contingent Upon Award (Anticipated Mid-March)
LOCATION: Norfolk, VA
CLEARANCE: Active Secret (minimum required); TS/SCI desired

We are seeking Cyber Security Support Technicians to support shipboard cyber readiness and compliance activities in Norfolk, VA. These roles provide hands-on cybersecurity and information assurance support for shipboard computer networks, assisting command personnel with cyber hardening, vulnerability remediation, and compliance with Navy and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
Candidates will bring deep experience in shipboard IT and cybersecurity environments and will support cyber evaluations, inspections, and remediation efforts using approved Navy and DISA tools and frameworks.

Responsibilities
- Provide cybersecurity support for shipboard computer networks and related systems
- Assist shipboard personnel with local cyber hardening efforts and security control implementation
- Support vulnerability identification, tracking, and remediation activities
- Utilize Navy and DoD cybersecurity tools and platforms, including:
- Vulnerability Remediation Asset Manager (VRAM)
- Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)
- Endpoint Security Solution (ESS)
- Apply and validate DISA STIG requirements across shipboard systems and applications
- Support activities related to the Navy Authority to Operate (ATO) process
- Conduct or support shipboard cyber evaluations and inspections
- Review scan results, identify findings, and coordinate remediation actions
- Prepare cybersecurity documentation, reports, and compliance artifacts
- Coordinate with system owners, ISSMs, and command leadership on remediation status and risk posture
- Ensure compliance with Navy and SECNAV cybersecurity and information assurance policies
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience in information technology or cybersecurity related to shipboard computer networks
- Demonstrated working knowledge of:
- SECNAV M-5510 series requirements
- SECNAVINST 5239.1 series cybersecurity requirements
- Hands-on experience with:
- VRAM
- ACAS
- ESS
- DISA STIG implementation and validation
- Navy ATO process support
- Experience supporting cyber hardening and vulnerability remediation efforts
- Strong technical documentation and reporting skills
- Active Secret clearance (minimum) required at time of hire
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- TS/SCI clearance preferred
- Direct experience performing shipboard cyber evaluations or inspections
- Experience supporting Navy or Fleet cybersecurity compliance programs
- Relevant DoD cybersecurity certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CASP+, CEH)
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Work is primarily sedentary, performed while using a computer for extended periods of time.
